Forest fires in the south of France: "With every carelessness, lives are in danger"

Six departments are on orange alert for forest fires, according to Météo France: Pyrénées-Orientales, Aude, Gard, Bouches-du-Rhône, Vaucluse, and Var. On Monday alone, 23 fires were recorded in Bouches-du-Rhône, where a violent mistral wind blew at speeds of up to 90 km/h. "Every time someone acts carelessly, lives are in danger," warns Colonel Jean-Luc Beccari, director of the Bouches-du-Rhône SDIS.
